• Women's Rights/LGBT Rights: Legendary Texas activist Bettie Naylor died Wednesday night at age 84.
• Altruism: Twelve more billionaires have added their names to the Giving Pledge, the campaign started by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates in 2010 to spur philanthropy among the superrich.

• Atheism: Todd Stiefel, head of the Stiefel Freethought Foundation and supporter of efforts such as the Reason Rally and Rock Beyond Belief, was interviewed (surprisingly fairly) by Conservative site The Blaze. (Can't say much for the commenters, though.) Also, a new poll shows, unsurprisingly, that more people believe in God as they get closer to death. And American Humanist Association president David Niose writes in Psychology Today about why more nonbelievers are openly identifying.
